Hockey is # 1 Sport for Kolton! He loves all sports and can rattle off info on all of them. This engaging and busy 8 year old has cerebral palsy but is not limited by his disabilities, he thrives on any sports related thing he gets to do. He had a golf club in the house until too many lamp shades were knocked around, now he plays ice hockey in a sled type device with Dad helping he can play and score goals. He proudly had 4 in one recent game! Characterizing Kolton as enthusiastic would be understating his exuberance for all things. We were sitting in the resturant with his delightful parents
when he started waving frantically at a lady way across from where we were, she saw him and came over to take pictures with him , she helps him get to school and you could tell how much she enjoyed him. Kolton through his CAF grant will now have a Hockey sled that will fit him enabling him to play more and longer. There is no doubt he will get full use of this new sled!!
Today’s is Amy’s birthday 🎉 we stayed in an AmerInn which had breakfast available, so I served her in bed (paper plate and powered eggs) to start the day! We then rode the Rail to Trail in Minnesota which she loved, very safe and pretty, she rolled up 30 birthday miles👍.
Cards from Target and a LaLa Land DVD were her big presents! She got a ton of calls from her many friends who sang to her and wished her a wonderful day. I then surprised her with a B&B stay in Alexandria (not part of the WagonWheel chain but pretty nice) in a great place overlooking a lake and we had it to ourselves! Then off to town for a gourmet dinner ( I know your thinking fried Walleye ) you wouldn’t believe it but they had a French resturant there and it was terrific ( whew!). She did say after dinner that she wouldn’t want to be anywhere else for her birthday than right here with me making an adventure and memory of a lifetime! Guess the powdered eggs weren’t so bad😉!!
Two more riding 🚴🚴♀️days left , all on Trails! We are looking forward to a celebration with a group of Challenged athlete grant recipients in Minneapolis on Sunday and then we fly home sweet home! Thanks again for following along with us , you have all provided great encouragement to us both , especially when the wind wasn’t at our backs😊👍
